Tenkara Teton Review

On a cold Friday afternoon, Clark and I headed to a local wild trout stream to test out the Tenkara Teton Telescoping Fly Rod. Right out of the packaging the first thing that struck me was the size. This thing is tiny! In my opinion, that's one of the best features of the Teton: it's ability to be packed. Whether you're on a bike ride that happens to cross paths with a brookie stream or you just want to pack light, the Teton leaves you plenty of room to spare. This 12 foot rod collapses to a mere 20 inches, taking spot hopping to a whole new level.

We fished for the few hours we had and the Teton treated us well, landing a variety of wild browns and rainbows. This rod is ideal for presenting nymphs and dry flies delicately to spooky trout, even in tight quarters like most Pennsylvania streams. The 360 degree tip made it virtually hassle free; all we had to do was expand the rod, tie a fly onto the tippet, and catch fish!

As far as nymphing is concerned, the Tenkara Teton is the way to go. It's simple, it's effective, and most importantly, it's fun!
